Individuals on the autism spectrum exhibit various strengths and abilities specifically associated with their medical condition, such as these:
The ability to read at levels above and beyond their peers of the same age (i.e. hyperlexia).
The ability to learn information quickly.
The ability to understand and learn information visually.
The ability to analyze a situation and come up with a reasonable solution (logical thinking).
The ability to excel in technical and logical academic areas such as math, science, and engineering.
Feats of memory (e.g. the ability to remember facts for a really long time).
The ability to be meticulous and pay attention to details.
The ability to be incredibly trustworthy and dependable.
The ability to strictly follow schedules and routines.
An amazing ability to find one's way around (i.e. sense of direction).
The ability to be on time for appointments.
The ability to firmly commit to and follow rules.
The ability to focus on highly motivating tasks for an extended period of time.
The ability to complete tasks accurately and systematically.
The ability to solve problems in unconventional ways.
The ability to see the world with originality and curiosity.
